 AWW is sad to report the passing of Evan Harlan on February 27, 2014 due to a long term illness.Evan Harlan (accordion, piano, composer, and music director) recorded and performed internationally with several jazz and world music ensembles including Dave Douglas, the Klezmer Conservatory Band and the Von Trapp Singers. His own quartet, Andromeda, played original music with the flavors of Americana, tango, gypsy, and other passionate traditions. In addition to concerts in the New England area, they were the house band for the American Repertory Theater's production of "Snow" in June in 2003. From 1995-2000, Harlan's group Excelsior played unorthodox arrangements of 20th century composers's works. Their CD, "Declassified", was featured on WGBH radio's internationally distributed "Art of the States", WGBH/BBC's "The World", WBUR's "The Connection" and "Here and Now". Harlan was the recipient of a 2001 Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Grant in music composition; he also scored numerous works for film, dance, and theater. In addition, he played on the soundtracks of Sidney Lumet's "A Stranger Among Us", and John Sayles's "Lone Star". In 2001, he performed in the orchestra with Luciano Pavarotti at the Fleet Center in Boston, and was featured in Hovanhess's "Rubaiyat" and Hindemith's "Kammermusik 1". As a conductor of musical theater, he led "Snow in June" and "Shlemeil the First" at the American Repertory, and "Fiorello" at Brandeis University. Evan earned his B.A. from the University of California and M.M. from NEC.(New England Conservatory of Music. He was on the faculty where he taught classes in Contemporary Improvisation. He also had performed on the ACCORDIONS NOW! music festival in New Hampshire. Evan greatly contributed to the advancement of the accordion through his teaching and performances. His legacy will live on through his students and many recordings. Funeral arrangements will be posted in the USA News when available. |

At this time the world premiere of "Dizzy Fingers: The Life of Joe Soprano" will take place. Make sure you are there for this major film premiere event and concert. Recognized as a world class accordionist, educator and arranger-composer, Joseph Soprani has dominated the accordion scene in Philadelphia for man than 45 years. Having appeared with the Philly Phanati at Citizens Bank Park in Celebration of Italian Heritage Night in 2012 and 2013, he holds the distinction of being the only accordionist in the history of the Philadelphia Orchestra to appear as featured soloist under Eugene Ormandy. He is the the former accordion soloist with the US Air Force Band in Washington, DC and was the first accordion soloist with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Band for eight years. While with the Air Force Band, he was awarded "The Air Force Roger", the most prestigious entertainment award bestowed by the US Air Force. The accordion has brought Joe Soprani some of the most unique performance experiences imaginable. With his squeezebox in tow, Joe has collaborated with Bon Jovi, performed at the White House, with Pavarotti, with tenor soloist Russell Watson, with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, on national television, and more. During his career, Soprani performed for President Eisenhower, Vice President Nixon, and many world dignitaries. In 2006, he was voted by the Philadelphia City Paper as "the most versatile accordion player" and he continues to promote the accordion as a serious instrument. He is currently the in-house accordionist on the Don Giovanni Italian Oldies Radio Show which can be heard via the internet. Joe Soprani has even survived a plane crash (though his first instrument did not). In his 80 years, Joe continues to work on and perfect his craft with seemingly endless energy and enthusiasm, while also passing on his knowledge to his many students. "Dizzy Fingers: the Life of Joe Soprani" explores a remarkable life filled with music. With the help of interviews with people in Joe's life, including Obie O'Brien (Bon Jovi), Susan Ashbaker (Opera Company of Philadelphia), and Joe Parente (president, Local 77), the film examines the true talents of a masterful musician. Not only that, but "Dizzy Fingers" provides a historical context to the instrument itself, with insight by ethnomusicologist, Marion Jacobson, who describes the rise and subsequent fall of the accordion due to the arrival of the Beatles. With the accordion seeing a great resurgence in contemporary pop and indie music, the time is now to recognize the man who never left it behind. Leading up to the premiere screening, Joe will perform live with a full band, playing well known pop, folk, and classical works. Joe Soprani and film producer, Brendan McGeehan, were interviewed on WHYY's Radio Times on February 27 with Marty Moss-Coane. You can hear the interview in this article. Film producer Brendan McGeehan is a true utility player in the music industry. A trained recording engineer and studied musician, he is adept and comfortable behind the board, in the producer’s chair, as well as performing bass, piano, guitar, or ukulele on the other side of the glass. Equally at home at a rock venue, classical concert hall, or jazz club, Brendan’s enthusiasm and love and understanding of many genres of music keeps him in demand. Formerly touring as bassist with punk/funk band Counter Riot, whose 2011 album was produced by Scott Stallone, he currently plays bass and keyboards for Philadelphia act Wonder & Fury and AlyCat. As a composer, he has scored music for several films over the last few years, appearing on FunnyOrDie and working with directors from Philadelphia to LA. His film, “Trouble’s A’Brewin’,” which he also produced, premiered at the 2012 Off-Centered Film Festival in Austin, TX. As an engineer, Brendan is constantly involved in the production of sounds, whether it’s working as the in-house producer/engineer for a 80 year-old Philadelphia accordion legend or mixing audio for 20,000 people at PPL park for the Philadelphia Union at a MLS game, and all things in between. World Artists Experiences in partnership with the Embassy of Serbia proudly presents world-renowned accordionist Petar Maric. The program will consist of folk and classical music performed on both the acoustic and electronic accordion. A native of Belgrade in Serbia, Mr. Maric has been a student of the accordion since the age of five and has studied at music schools throughout Europe. | The 28th 2014 National Accordion Association (NAA) Convention will be held from March 5-9, 2014 at the Southfork Hotel and Convention Center in Plano, Texas. An exciting new concept will be implemented this year. Accordion ambassadors from China are scheduled to participate in the 2014 convention include Yiru Liu, Shusheng Wang, Yuanan Fan, Rui Liu and Annie Gong (China-New Zealand). Together, they will be representing Shandong University at Weihai, the Accordion Association of Shandong Province, National Accordion Association (China), Tianjin Conservatory of Music, Chinese Musicians Association, National Higher Education Accordion Society (China) and Roland Accordion. Selected members of the National Accordion Association (USA) will teach sessions on classical, jazz and folk music, which are normally associated with the USA and European countries. Included in this convention are the traditional concerts, workshops, open mikes, jam sessions, vendor presentations, banquet and many social events. As usual, NAA officials are experimenting with new ideas. President Norman Seaton declare the week March 6-8 to be the “Plano, TX, Accordion Awareness Week.” The NAA will work with the Visitors and Convention Bureau to invite all area music teachers to attend (no charge). Included will be promotional material for adding accordions to their list of musical instruments. Young musicians from the local bands are invited to bring their music instruments and play along with the youth band that includes more than accordions. The NAA will provide professional accordionists to perform in the hotel restaurant to entertain diners and to sell tickets to various convention events. Special activities include: Jazz Mini College: Initiate an introduction to jazz training that includes theory, demonstrations, application, practice, participation and finally a Certificate of Completion signed by the NAA President and Instructors. International Music Festival: Convert the traditional Friday evening concert and dance into an International Music Festival complete with dancing, food, and two performance stages. “Accordion-Free” Zone: Provide a “no-accordion” area for the general public and conventioneers who want a break from 24/7 accordion music. | Composer Bjorn Bolstad Skjelbred will be flying in from Oslo, Norway to attend the first 7 performances of his newest work “ConVergEnce for Accordion and Cello”. Download Press Release (9 pages): SkjelbredPR Concerts are scheduled in New York, New Jersey, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Together with “ConVergEnce”, the concert will also include Skjelbred’s classical guitar solo, “Moves”, Magnar Am’s “On the Banks of the Eternal Second”, and Wolfgang Plagge’s “Fractals”. In April 2013, Norwegian Composers Fund awarded Mr. Skjelbred a 60,000 kroner commissioning grant to write “ConVergEnce”. Mr. Skjelbred’s travel and lodging expenses are covered by generous grants from the Norwegian Association of Composers and Music Norway. The world premiere is scheduled at Everett Theater in Bennnington, VT with cellist Michael Gilbert Ronstadt and accordionist Rocco Anthony Jerry. Cellists Jared Shapiro and Dr. David Bebe will be performing with Mr. Jerry for the later concerts in the tour.  The next meeting of the Long Island Accordion Alliance (LIAA) sponsored by La Villini Restaurant is on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 6 PM at La Villini, 288 Larkfield Road, East Northport, NY 11731Come and enjoy the festive music of the Long Island Accordion Alliance (LIAA) and featured guest artists Fabio & Fabio Lucarelli. In the Lucarelli family, there are four generations of accordionists, all with the same name! The first Fabio began performing on the accordion professionally during the days of Vaudeville. Fabio, Sr. was a self taught musician and entertained with the clarinet and accordion. He founded Fabio's Accordion School in Derby, CT. Many years later, his son, Fabio Jr.,used his lunch box to pretend he was playing an accordion. At the age of 7 his father began to teach him. Later, they became known as Fabio & Fabio and he also gave accordion lessons. With his accordion, Fabio was sent to the front lines in Korea, where it saved his life. Fabio performed for the troops and officer clubs with Eddie Fisher. After the service, Fabio Jr. continued playing with Bob Kay’s Orchestra and formed the Fabio Trio in the early 60’s touring from Florida to Greenland. The accordion was always an integral part of the Lucarelli family life. Fabio 3rd at the age of 3, was given the accordion by his grandfather in 1957. Those days were known as the Golden Age of Accordion. Fabio practiced while his father was on the road, joining him when the Trio was on their East Coast tour. They continued performing as a Father/Son duet calling themselves Fabio & Fabio. Fabio 3rd continued his accordion career performing in many venues and became a regular on the WICC Italian House Party in Bridgeport, CT. Fabio 4th was inspired by the recordings of his grandfather taking lessons from the great jazz artist, Dominic Mecca, of Waterbury, CT. During elementary school, he was the first and only accordionist in the Salem School Band! Eventually he was introduced by his father on WICC radio and they continue to this day as the 3rd generation of Fabio & Fabio, performing many of the arrangements passed down to them by their grandfather.  Jazz accordionist Luis Espindola will perform with the Luis Espindola Jazz Band at the opening night of the High Note Jazz Club, Miami's New Jazz Venue on March 14, 2014 at 9:PM. The electrifying sounds of the Luis Espindola Jazz Band come to the High Note stage to electrify the audience. His masterfull arrangements to the world composers classic hits are sensitive and provocative. Sit and feel the sounds of brass and jazz in an evening you soon will not forget. Jazz Accordionist, Arranger, Composer, and Band Leader Luis Espindola was born in Cuba, but soon after established residence with his family in beloved Puerto Rico. After developing an interest for the accordion at a very young age, Espindola began his studies under the guidance and supervision of Maestro George Kudirka. It was hearing Argentinean born Jazz Pianist, Maestro Atilio Bruni, which aided in Luis Espindola's determined development of skill and technique in the jazz field. His devotion led him to study the Berklee College of Music Arranging, Orchestration and Modern Harmony Courses. Years later, he became a renowned Arranger, Composer, Director and Jazz Musician throughout Puerto Rico. Espindola is well known for playing complex poly chordal tone structures and by incorporating orchestral approach techniques for Mechanical Voicings, making him one of the few accordionists to ever achieve such a distinctive jazz sound. Luis Espindola has enjoyed a successful career traveling throughout Europe, the Middle East, South America, United States and The Caribbean performing to Jazz lovers and newcomers alike. "Maestro" Espindola has several studio work recordings with a number of artists. He has recorded multiple sessions with the late sax virtuoso Jesus Caunedo. He currently resides in the beautiful city of Miami where he is helping to enhance the listening ears of many in the wonderful musical world of Jazz.   The San Francisco Accordion Club (SFAC) will feature several accordionists in concert on March 16, 2014 at 2:PM. The musicians include Alicia Baker, Mike Zampiceni, 13 year old Lorenzo Lucchesi, 11 year old Massimo Sclaroni, and Gus Greyhosky. The concert will be held at the Oyster Point Yacht, 911 Marina Blvd., south San Francisco.Alicia Baker has been a passionate musician since early childhood. She began studying the piano at age 4, the accordion at age 6 and voice at age 14. Alicia recently graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education, Piano Performance, and Vocal Performance. Alicia has found her most tangible success with the accordion. Most recently, she was awarded 3rd place at the Coupe Mondiale accordion World championships in the digital division, taking place in Victoria, BC this past August. Alicia has also won several other International competitions, including the Happy Hans Open and the Leavenworth Open. In 2009, she won the privilege of representing the USA at the Roland International V-Accordion Competition in Rome. This turned out to be the beginning of her current relationship with Roland; one that continues to provide opportunities to share her love for the instrument. Aside from competitive events, Alicia has performed solo accordion concerts at many notable festivals. These include the American Accordion Association Convention, Cotati Accordion Festival, the Accordionists and Teachers Guild International Festival, KIOTAC, Leavenworth Old- Time Accordion Festival, and the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show. In 2011, she was privileged to join the Corvallis symphony as the soloist for Nikolai Chaikin's Accordion Concerto in B-flat Major. In addition to her three instruments, Alicia also discovered a passion for musical composition. She has composed many solo accordion pieces, a few solo piano pieces, and two works for choir. Alicia won the KRAFT composition competition held at OSU in 2011, and was honored to have her composition The Unseen, written for choir, cello, and piano, performed by the OSU Chamber Choir. She plans to continue composing, and hopes to become a published composer someday. Mike Zampiceni was raised with accordions from birth. His father, Joseph Zampiceni, was a noted accordionist, teacher, composer, arranger, and music publisher. Accordions were part of the Zampiceni household from day one. Mike began formal study of the accordion at age 8, and had his first series of paid engagements at the age of 11 when he played for San Jose area parades. After teaching, performing, and selling pianos and organs for about five years, Mike decided to switch careers. Nevertheless, Mike has never left the music profession and has continued to play engagements and teach students. His extensive repertoire includes American standards from the 30’s to the 70’s, commercial jazz, and European music. Mike had a long-term engagement playing accordion and singing on Saturday nights for 10 years at Di Cicco’s Restaurant in San Jose, and A’ Bellagio Restaurant in downtown Campbell and at Isabella’s on the Monterey wharf on weekends. He recently started playing regularly at Paesano’s Restaurant in downtown San Jose.  The American Accordion Musicological Society in conjunction with the Mid Atantic Music Teachers Guild presents Accordion Extravaganza 2014 honoring Accordionist Jim Vandelly on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at The Hanover Marriott Hotel, 1401 Route 10 East, Whippany, NJ.In 1948, a traveling representative of the Rosita Lee Studios knocked on the door of the Vandelly family in Townsend, Massachusetts. He showed Jim a twelve-base accordion, and that started his adventures in the accordion world. The representative was George Janis, and he was Jim’s teacher until 1955, when the Vandelly’s moved to Los Angeles. Jim continued taking lessons in Alhambra from Sam Petrone for two years. But it was George Janis who will be remembered fondly in Jim’s memory. Many years later, in 1961, Janis and his combo played at Oak Hill Country Club, in Fitchburg—and Jim was working there for the summer. Jim bought Janis’ private accordion, and played it for 30 years. While in the USAF in Texas, Jim began to play solo gigs at the Officer’s Club at Goodfellow AFB, and at the River Club in San Angelo. When Jim and his wife Kathy moved to the D.C. area in 1968, Jim played several gigs on both piano accordion and Russian balalaika at private parties and at the Smithsonian Institution’s ethnic music weeks in Decembers in the early 1980s. In 1993, the Balalaika Domra Society of America went on a floating music tour from Moscow to St. Petersburg. Many members of the Washington Balalaika Society were also members of the BDAA. Jim played at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Hall, Yaroslavl Concert Hall, and Glinka Hall in St. Petersburg. In 1997, when Jim retired from his 28-year teaching career, he met Stan and Joanna, and took a few lessons to improve his playing, the then joined the AAMS. He competed in a few AAMS conventions thereafter. In 1989, Jim joined the newly-formed Washington Balalaika Society, as its first accordion player. He remained with WBS through 2001. He joined with several members of the WBS, and they were the Beltway Balalaikas ensemble. Jim played Russian bayan and piano accordion with the BB’s for several years. The ensemble played at an Inaugural Ball for President George W. Bush in January of 2001. Thereafter, the “BB’s” played at the British and Russian embassies on several occasions. Jim travelled to Stockholm, Sweden in 2000 and 2001, as a guest accordionist with the Kazbek Russian Orchestra. His Swedish friends were also members of the Balalaika/Domra Association of America.   .If it has to be the last, it is fitting this was the best, climaxing the eight years this event has been in Mesa with a public concert for an enthusiastic audience of over three hundred fifty people. Many in the audience had never heard an accordion orchestra perform, and there were gasps of “Wow” at the finish of the first piece followed by several standing ovations, for the orchestra and for the solo performers, thereafter. The fifty-five accordionists from across the United States, Canada, and Italy, attending this last Mesa Event were treated to the rare opportunity to play under the batons of two formidable conductors: Stas Venglevski and Joan Cochran Sommers. In 2009, Mr. Venglevski had been asked to be assistant conductor by the event’s founder, Frank Marocco, world renowned jazz accordionist and Hollywood’s go-to studio musician. At Mr. Marocco’s untimely illness and subsequent death in 2012, Mr. Venglevski assumed full musical direction of the event. In honor of her 80th birthday, Joan Sommers, Professor Emerita, University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music and internationally known conductor and arranger, was invited to be guest conductor and concertmistress. Together, with his unique humor and amazing virtuosity and her optimism and professional attention to detail, Mr. Venglevski and Professor Sommers drew out the best in us, a motley crew of mixed accordion ability – from near beginner to professional – and shaped us into a cohesive orchestra. Under their batons, we mastered the eclectic and difficult program including original pieces by Mr. Venglevski and the gorgeous arrangement of “Les Misérables” by Professor Sommers – which featured renowned cellist Roza Borisova (wife of Stas Venglevski) as guest artist. Although the concert was the fitting finale of the Event, the three and a half days preceding this concert were filled with memory-making experiences: Workshops focusing on jazz improvisation (featuring Frank Petrilli on accordion and saxophonist David Crozier backed by the event’s percussionist Jesse-Lee Yarborough and string bass player Sean Brogan); music to learn and teach by (with Professor Sommers); the details of reading the black and white of the music page (with Esther Lanting); Evening mini-concerts, giving all of us who wanted to play, no matter the level, the opportunity to join the fun (terror?) of solo public performance; More accordion music, solos and duets, during meals; And the very special evening celebration of Professor Sommers’ birthday, with video tributes from around the world, and performances in her honor by several of the professionals attending this year’s Event. Most memorable as always, however, was the camaraderie – renewing friendships formed at past Events and making new friends. The Mesa Accordion Event, originally called the Frank Marocco Accordion Event, was unique, bringing together a diverse range of accordionists and guest artists to make music for the world at large with a public concert, to experience solo playing in a non-threatening atmosphere, and to forge lasting friendships across the world accordion community. All of us who participated in one, some, or even all of these events (like me) owe a debt of gratitude to Frank Marocco for his vision and to Joan and Dan Grauman, organizers extraordinaire of all of these Events (and to their right hand helpers, Bruce Lawrie and Mike Roche). Thank you. And of this final Event, without doubt: Frank Marocco would be proud. | There is a new band from Michigan called "Immigrant Sons" continuing the musical journey of their heritage. They specialize in International Music for Festivals, Weddings and other special events, performing a wide variety of German, Italian, Polish, Austrian, Spanish, French and Contemporary Music. The Immigrant Sons band members are: Horn and Vocals - Steve Lang ( son of German Immigrants ) Guitar & Vocals - Johnny Giordano ( son of Italian Immigrants ) Drums & Vocals - Chris Gassel ( son of German Immigrants ) Accordion & Vocals - Joe Recchia ( son of Italian Immigrants ) The band members explain, "Most of us are descendants of immigrants. For some of us that journey involves generations. For others it is a more recent if not a personal experience. Regardless of the distance in time, our family traditions reflect some influence from our cultures of origin. While we are encouraged to assimilate into American culture, our homes retain the traditions and customs of our ethnic heritage. Not through rigid enforced activities but through the ever-present music echoing through the rooms. There were also many boisterous and happy melodies encouraging a lust for life and laughter. Simple, yet lyrically powerful and poignant, these songs have provided a glimpse into the heart of the immigrant allowing us to experience the longing for a home left behind. These experiences instilled within each of us, the love and appreciation for the music that remains with us today. Our band "Immigrant Sons" is a tribute to those in our families, past and present, distant and near who immigrated to the United States and to thank them for their sacrifices." | The "Michigan State Spartan's" College Coach Mr. Tom Izzo, currently the longest tenured coach in the Big Ten Conference, is now an Honorary Member of the Michigan Accordion Society. Izzo, whose teams are often recognized for their rebounding prowess and defensive tenacity, has won four national Coach of the Year awards. Tom gets his teams all pumped with the accordion and has been featured on Local, State and National TV while he has plays the accordion with his team singing various tunes around him! When the Michigan Accordion Society invited him to become a member, he graciously accepted and said he was honored to be part of the organization. |

 Paul has performed for many years (as a soloist, with small groups and orchestras) throughout Metro Chicago and Phoenix, Arizona. He has performed in shows, private parties, theatres, country clubs, hotels, lounges, with radio and TV appearances. Paul has been a sideman on numerous recordings, appeared on radio and TV and in many concert dates with notable performers. Former resident accordionist in Chicago for Bobbi Vinton.
He enjoys casual engagements and jam sessions with the finest jazz players Phoenix has to offer keeping active at National events and festivals. He has been busy recently in recording sessions working on his latest CD in the Pop?Jazz mode, to be released early this year. | The New England Music Festival will be held from April 4-6, 2014 at the Boston Newton Marriott. The New England Music Festival is an annual musical competition sponsored by the Accordion Teachers Association of Massachusetts, Inc, (ATAM). The festival averages more than 3000 entries and 800 contestants from all across New England. All events are free and open to the public, while entry fees for contestants vary by category. During the festival, contestants, ages through 22, take part in accordion, guitar, bass guitar, drum, percussion, piano, violin and voice competitions. Solo, duet and group categories are also offered. Non Competitive Categories include evaluation solos and festival group divisions. Contestants must be students of ATAM teachers. The three-day event takes place Friday through Sunday. On Friday evening and Sunday a “Battle of the Bands” is held in the hotel ballroom. Cash awards are given to the first, second and third place winners in three divisions. The Accordion, Guitar, Drum, and Piano Championships are also held Friday evening with cash awards given to all competitors. On Saturday and Sunday continuous group competitions are held in the hotel ballroom. Solo and duet competitions are ongoing. An awards banquet is held on Saturday evening with more than 500 in attendance. A $500.00 cash scholarship is awarded to a contestant accepted as a Music Major in college. More than $4,000 in cash is awarded to winners throughout the weekend. Contestants are evaluated by judges from all over the country. At the event, students will have an opportunity to participate in workshops, compete in age-level categories, perform for evaluation, attend concerts, and have fun at a Dance Party on Saturday evening. One of the best things about the event-contestants can participate regardless of their experience level or ability. • Who can participate? Participants must be students of ATAM member teachers. • What are the competition rules? The following provides an overview of competition rules. Contact an ATAM school, studio, or teacher for additional information. • Contestant cut off age is 22 as of April 1, current year. • All music must be memorized except snare solos, all duets and groups.  Parlez vous?!? It’s an encore for Anita and Bob Siarkowski of Plantsville, Connecticut ...This year, 2014, they’re taking the 5th! For the fifth time, this accordion duo has been invited to represent the USA by participating in the international Carrefour Mondial de l’Accordeon. The audience loves accordion music, and is treated to a double dose with the husband and wife team, claiming that the Siarkowskis’ theme related, co-ordinated attire is unprecedented. Montmagny, Quebec, Canada will be the setting for the 26th annual event from August 28, 2014 through September 1, 2014. Exhibits, conferences, workshops, concerts, dances, strolling accordionists in 10 area restaurants, and after hours jam sessions are on the agenda – highlighted by Musee de l’Accordeon, the accordion museum. Anita’s high school French, along with herFrench heritage enable her to serve as interpreter amongst the Quebecois. Laissez les bon temps rollez! Let the good times roll! Anita and Bob Siarkowski are Charter/Advisory Board members of the Connecticut Accordion Association, and active members of the American Accordionists’ Association. Bob teaches all keyboard instruments - accordion, piano, organ, electronic keyboard - privately at his Plantsville, Connecticut studio, Bob's Music Center. Anita, a Certified Nurse Case Manager, is an Independent Consultant . She also entertains as an accordion soloist in various theme oriented programs (costumes to match), plus with Bob as an accordion duet. The entertain at various venues..... assisted living facilities, church functions, organization events. wineries, and in Montmagny, Quebec, Canada at the annual international accordion festival. The Siarkowskis met through the accordion, played at their own wedding and at their 50th wedding anniversary. They had an accordion cake, accordion favors, and the band, “Squeeze Box”! Anita and Bob continue to lift the spirits of their audience, squeezin’ all the way! |

| The 24th Annual Cotati Accordion Festival is scheduled for August 16th and 17th, 2014 in Cotati, California. Not only will you enjoy a few days of fabulous music but you will also be contributing to a worthwhile cause. The Cotati Accordion Festival is a non-profit organization established in 1991 to promote the love of the accordion and to support local youth service organizations.To date they have contributed in excess of $320,000 to the youth of the community.
