The First London Accordion Festival 2001

On December 8 and 9, 2001 at the Wembley Conference Centre ( Wembley, London) accordion greats from all over the world gathered for the First London Accordion Festival. It was a grand gathering of accordionists which featured two Gala Concerts:

Opening Concert:
Featuring the BBC Symphony Concert Orchestra , conductor - Nick Davies:

Astor Piazzolla - "Suite Punta Del Este" ( performed by Frederic Deschamps)
John Webb - "Concerto" ( Owen Murray )
Romano Viazzini - Concerto "Valceno" ( author )
Vladimir Zubitsky - Concerto "Rossiniana", version with large symphony orch ( author )
Italian Folk Music ( arr.R.Viazzini)- ( Corrado Medioli, Mauro Carra, Romano Viazzini )


Closing Concert:

The musical events included exhibitions of music, CD's, musical instruments , non-stop concerts from 9.30 to 00.30 with all genres of music from classic to jazz and musette; from solo accordion to different ensembles and orchestras. It was truly a world musical panorama!
